Visão geral
Waste Corporation of America is a full-service, non-hazardous solid waste company providing collection and disposal services to commercial, industrial and residential customers. WCA provides services to over half a million residential and commercial/ industrial customers. WCA prides itself on its decentralized structure and its ability to provide the local understanding and personalized service of a much smaller business. WCA strives to be a leader in the solid waste industry and holds itself to the highest environmental and ethical standards.
Within their organization, they have transitioned to high-efficiency light bulbs and automatically-timed lights. They have also implemented a policy of turning off their compressor when not in use and established a policy of changing air conditioning filters a minimum of once a month. WCA has a robust environmental program that addresses all areas and is particularly impressive in its stormwater runoff pollution minimization, hazardous waste handling and oil storage programs.
Waste Corporation of America (WCA) became a Sarasota County Green Business Partner in 2007. The Green Business Partnership (GBP) encourages environmental stewardship in the commercial sector, and recognizes businesses that make an extra effort to operate in an environmentally responsible manner. This collaborative effort includes businesses, business organizations and local governments. The GBP was initiated through a grant awarded by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to Sarasota County.
