Washington Township Municipal Building
Overview
The German Valley School was built in 1886 and sold to the municipality in 1949. It has been used as the municipal building ever since. A rennovation was completed in 2004 and the building now houses the Administration/Clerk's, Tax Collection, Tax Assessing, Building, Health, Finance, Planning and Zoning departments and Municipal Court. It is also the voting location for the primary and general elections for districts four and five. The school bell and tower that is on the municipal building was moved from the old school (now the historical society museum and headquarters on Fairview Avenue).
