水圳 Water Ditch

概览

台江海埔地本是台灣最美的內海，西元1823年大風雨後成為海埔地，且越東邊農村文化越濃。日據時代嘉南大圳完成，嘉南大圳利用安南區所殘存的低溼河道，以人工開闢田圳，起先大都是土渠其後再以水泥構築內壁，灌溉這片107平方公里的鹽地，宛如台江海埔地的血管。其中供應和順寮段係「安定分線」及「六塊寮分線」。早期本地居民除利用水圳灌溉外，婦女也常群聚在圳邊洗衣聊天，小孩更愛結伴在此玩水嬉戲。

Taijiang tidal land was considered Taiwan’s most beautiful inland sea area. It was formed after the 1823 storm. The Jianan Water Ditch was constructed during the Japanese colonial era. This water ditch utilized the remaining watercourses of Annan District, artificially created for irrigation purposes. The water was used for irrigating 107 square kilometers of salt pan lands. It also transports water to Heshun Liao’s Anding and Liou Kuai Liao water branches. Besides irrigation, the local woman often gathered around the ditch to do laundry and children loved to play in the water ditch.
