Our handcrafted bags are made of recycled transport bags that were used to import rice, beans, sugar etc. From all over the world to Cape Town.
50% of our profit goes directly into good deeds, supporting less fortunate people. (check CHARITY on our website to see our initiatives!) Everything is produced locally to support the economy of the country and also to create employment for locals.
We try to inspire people on our website to do good deeds and to build up a community of awareness to make the world a better place! Therefore every GIVE IT BAG comes with its own 5-digit number. The idea is that the owner of the bag posts her/his own good deed on our website – hopefully setting an example and encouraging others to do the same.
We have
An environmental responsibility, because GIVE IT BAGs are made from re-used polypropylen sacks previously used to transport basic foodstuffs, that would otherwise have ended up on the rubbish dump.
An economic responsibility, because GIVE IT BAG is produced locally, in accordance to fair trade principles.
A social responsibility, because 50% of the profit is donated to charitable projects and actions launched by GIVE IT BAG.
A personal responsibility, because every bag has a unique number, with which you can post your own good deeds at www.give-it-bag.com
As a retailer or corporate, you too will be contributing – as will your customers. AND you will be showing that you buy consciously and support the local industry.
You can visit us at our store at Unit 04, Canterbury Studios on Wesley Street
