Overview
Enjoy a 3/4 mile hike through maritime forests, meandering through yaupon, pine and myrtle trees and pristine dunes. Linger a while on the wooden observation platform overlooking the tidal marsh with good views of Pamlico Sound. Heron sightings are usually reliable from the platform and Red Breasted Nuthatches can be found in the forests. This nature trail is on land owned by the National Parks.
