Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSS) is an employee-owned company that has supported public and private sector programs since 1978. Our mission is to improve public health worldwide by providing technical, research, and program management services to government and other clients. This support enables policymakers, medical professionals, communities, and citizens to improve public health knowledge and to mitigate the effects of devastating diseases, such as HIV/AIDS. A group of SSS employee-owners established a Green Committee (the “Green Team”) to translate a grassroots environmental stewardship movement among employees into a company-sponsored initiative. The volunteer members of the Green Team work to promote sustainable practices at SSS. Through a regular “Sustainable Solutions” column in SSS’ weekly online newsletter, the Green Team educates staff on the importance of making sustainable choices. We are committed to working with our customers, staff, and suppliers to make sustainable choices and reduce our impact on the environment by implementing solutions for recycling, reinventing, and reusing resources in our daily operating practices.
