The Bike Rack
Rezumat
In 1972, Jim Ballard, a hospital pharmacist in Jackson, MS, purchased one of the first European designed ten speed bicycles recently introduced to the American market. Tom Martin, a pharmacy student intern working under Jim, was enthralled by Jim's enthusiasm for cycling and purchased a used 5 speed bicycle to begin riding with Jim. As the pair developed into avid cyclists, so did their quest for knowledge of equipment, maintenance procedures, and training techniques. The end result was the realization that offering their knowledge and passion could further promote the sport of bicycling. Hence, in November, 1973, on Robinson Rd. in southwest Jackson, MS, the pair opened The Bike Rack.
Our goal and mission was and remains to provide superior products at fair and reasonable prices, professional knowledge, and outstanding customer service. Our passion for cycling was recognized as a sincere effort to promote cycling as a healthy lifestyle for individuals and families. We have taken very seriously the trust that our customers have bestowed upon us for these past thirty years. Our commitment to outstanding customer service and zealousness for cycling permeates our souls as strongly today as it did in 1973
