Mitchell Park

Mitchell Park is one of the most popular urban parks in Durban, with large shady lawns for picnicking. The park also has a small zoo which is home to a number of indigenous and exotic animals, including crocodiles, buck, monkeys, raccoons, wallabies, and tortoises. There is also a walk-through aviary.

Driving Directions: Travelling west on the N3 from the Durban CBD towards Westville, take the Berea Road south off-ramp. Take a right at the next intersection into Musgrave Road. Travel on this road for approximately 3.5km and turn left into Nimmo Road, which later becomes Ferndale Road. The entrance to the park is located on the right.
