Overview
The Cedars, or Henry Fenn House, was built in 1885. Harry Fenn was a watercolor artist and an illustrator born in Richmond, Surrey England in 1845. Although he owned several homes in Montclair, The Cedars located on 177 Upper Mountain Avenue attracted much attention in the community when it was moved down the hill (east) to its permanent site at 208 North Mountain Avenue.
This home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 1, 1988 and on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places since September 29, 1986.
