概览
Kenkeleba House Garden hosts a broad range of sculptures made of scrap and other materials that can withstand the natural elements. The large plot of land situate between East 2nd and 3rd Streets is ideal for the exhibitions of these large sculptures that acts as a counter part to the Kenkeleba Gallery indoors across the street on East 2nd Street. Most of the sculptures are loaned from local artists and remain at the garden for different periods of time. The garden is subdivided into a natural part with lots of vegetation and a brick walkway. The other half of the garden closer to East 3rd Street houses the sculptures in a larger open area with minimal plantings or trees. The main entrance to the garden is on the wild side near East 2nd Street and the offices are in the building next door. The garden is open during the designated posted hours or if one of the owners of the gallery at 219 East 2nd Street is around to open the garden for anyone interested. Although the garden is a community garden, its fences remain locked unless one of the members opens it directly. Once inside, though, it is interesting to see the different sculptures on display.
