概览
The IHM Motherhouse is a certified LEED building by US Green Building Council. The renovation was completed in 2003. Sustainable features include gray water recycling, geothermal heating and cooling, passive energy, water conservation, energy conservation, green products used for flooring, paint, drywall, reused wood doors and windows, and much more. Outdoor features include restored meadow savannah, native trees and wildflowers, constructed wetland, organic garden, vegetated swales, contemplative landscapes with pathways that link spirituality to nature, labyrinth, cemetery. Tour available by appointment.
The facility is available for rental and provides catering services.
The IHM Motherhouse is a private residence and home to 200 retired sisters. It is also the headquarters for their congregation. A gift shop is located in the building. Visitation Spirituality Center is located at the north end of the IHM's 260-acre campus.
