The Dubuque Metropilitan Area Solid Waste Agency's mission is to provide environmentally sound, financially stable, fiscally responsible, community recognized, solid waste management services that include appropriate waste reduction, resource conservation, and disposal activities.
The DMASWA Compost Facility is located at the Dubuque Metro Landfill on Highway 20. Materials which may be dropped off for a fee are leaves, grassing clippings, trees, brush, and tree limbs. Compost is available for purchase from spring through fall at the Dubuque Metro Landfill. The compost is made of 100% composted grass clippings, leaves, garden trimmings, brush and trees. Compost is used as a soil amendment for lawns and gardens. Compost is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to all Dubuque and Delaware county residents and businesses.
The DMASWA also offers Hazardous Materials Disposal; Special Event Recycling units for loan; Electronic scrap recycling; Appliance recycling; etc.
