Welcome to our ‘GREEN ALLIANCE’ !

The Alliance Française de Durban is proud to be the Greenest Alliance Française in the world!

Following the INDALO project (‘Nature’ in Xhosa) aiming to make the Alliance Française network models of sustainability, we have made its premises and operations environmentally friendly with:

- 12 Solar panels to make electricity, donated by Solaire Direct.
- 2 x10 000l Rainwater tanks for irrigating the garden and flushing the toilets, donated by Veolia.
- Boundary walls painted with eco Friendly paint.
- Indigenous garden and permaculture garden
- Recycling of waste thanks to waste separation bins in offices and kitchen, Installation of energy saving light bulbs

As an NPO and PBO, the Alliance Française of Durban, is funded in this project by public and private sponsors:

• The French Embassy and French Institute in South Africa
• The Alliance Française Foundation in Paris
• The delegation of Alliances Françaises in Southern Africa.
• Solaire Direct Technologies the South African branch of the French company Solairedirect,
