Hawaan Forest Nature Reserve

Overview

The Hawaan Forest is a 110 ha remnant patch of coastal lowland forest, noted for many rare tree species. Bushbuck, Bushpig, Duiker and Mongoose are local residents, as are Crowned Eagle and Crested Guinea fowl.

Driving Directions: Take the Ruth First Freeway (M4) north from Durban towards Umhlanga. Take the Umhlanga North off-ramp.Turn right into Portland Road,keeping left at intersection with Egret Lane. The reserve entrance is on the corner of Herald Road and Portland
Road.
