Newell Hall
Overview
Originally built in 1910, the historic Newell Hall on UF's campus has been renovated to achieve LEED® Gold certification by the United States Green Building Council. The new Newell Hall Learning Commons is an open, tech-enhanced space for group projects and solitary study, meant to offer everything a student needs in one 24-hour building. To achieve it's sustainable status, the new building reused many aspects from the original construction and added features bicycle storage, energy efficient equipment, low flow water fixtures, water efficient landscaping and sits next to a major public bus hub.
