概览
The Tavern Rock Sand Company operated the quarry and extracted silica sand from St Peter sandstone. The sandstone produced a fine grade of silica sand used for glass making, tiles, and brick. The quarry was closed in the 1980's and has been ecologically restored to native MO plant habitat and a St. Charles County Park.
