Domestic Solar Installation

Domestic Solar Installation

Solar Energy Site

Overview

This is a self-installed system that is generating clean and ‘free’ power from the Sun.
Photovoltaic (PV) monocrystalline Solar Panels convert the light energy to electrical energy.
The electrical energy from the PV panels is regulated through a Charge Controller and is stored (presently) in two 110 amp ‘Leisure’ 12 volt lead acid batteries (connected in parallel supplying 220 amps). This supplies (via a fused circuit) the power for a 12vdc (electrical) power system capable of running several 12vdc low power CFL (compact fluorescent) bulbs, any (12vdc) electrical appliances (small entertainment systems, mobile phone charging, rechargeable batteries, in fact anything that can be converted or adapted to the system) and inverters (12vdc to 240vac) for devices that require ‘mains’ (240vac, 50Hz) power.
