The Harrington Park Department of Public Works is located 66 Schraalenburg Rd and consists of seven full time employees and one part time employee who assists in operating the recycling center. The department is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Borough properties, streets, buildings and parklands. They operate and maintain a fleet of approximately 25 on and off road vehicles, including dump trucks, front end loaders, a backhoe, street sweeper, mowers, tractors and trailers, and attachments used for leaf collection, snow deicing and removal and pot hole patching. They operate a roll off truck, which is used to move material collected at our recycling center, along with stumps and logs collected at curbside, to market, in one of the 12 roll off containers used to store recyclable material. They have a variety of small equipment and tools used in their operation, such as chain saws, blowers, trimmers, and shop tools for repairs.

The department maintains the storm water and sewer collection system, provides snow removal for approximately 26 miles of roads, landscapes the parks and other borough property, collects and composts leaves, and runs the recycling center. Finally, the DPW is responsible for general maintenance of the borough buildings, assisting in seasonal decorations and set up and clean up of special events.
