Overview
Baedari Used Bookstore Street is a bookstore street located near Dong-Incheon Station. The village is made after 1883, when the open port is built in Jemulpo. After the independence of Korea from Japan, the leaving Japanese people sold their books to the junk shops, and those flowed into Baedari. This led the establishment of the used bookstore street. The book disposal of war refugees and people going to Vietnam also helped the development of this street. This street is the only used bookstore street in Incheon and it was one of the three major used bookstore street in Korea in the 1970s. However, the street slowly declined since the 1980s and only a few used bookstores are left now.
